Our MP in School13 July 2021 (by admin) |
Max, of Year Five, has been invited to join the U.K. Children’s Parliament as the sole representative of the Oldham East and Saddleworth constituency.
This is a great honour and we are very proud of him.
His first task will be to engage in an online debate with child representatives from the other 649 constituencies about sustainability and climate change topics that matter most to them. Other ‘burning issues’ to be discussed by the children include Covid-19 response and technology.
The debate will be linked to the United Nations COP26 Climate Change Summit being held in Glasgow later this year. It will be assisted by Sir David Amess MP and various members of the House of Lords. The event will be streamed live at 5 p.m. on Friday 29th October, and is likely to feature on national television.
